When Families Ask AI
How AI systems find, describe, and recommend Georgia’s senior living communities
Lucie Research evaluated 57 Georgia senior living entities to see what AI systems say when a family asks the kinds of questions families actually ask. Fifty-five of the 57 fell below the Strong readiness tier. Fourteen did not appear at all.
Below Strong Readiness
In the 2026 Lucie AI Visibility Index Georgia Senior Living Study, 55 of 57 Georgia senior living entities fell below the Strong AI readiness tier.
Not Retrieved By AI
Fourteen of 57 Georgia senior living entities, or 24.6 percent, were not retrieved in any tested AI scenario.
Found But Rarely Recommended
Eight Georgia senior living entities appeared in AI answers but were rarely recommended to families, a distinct failure mode from invisibility.
Low Knowledge Credibility
Twenty-two of 57 Georgia senior living entities, or 38.6 percent, scored below 50 on knowledge credibility, meaning the information AI holds about them is thin or unsupported.
Unclear Care Association
Twenty of 57 Georgia senior living entities, or 35.1 percent, were not clearly associated by AI with the type of care they actually provide.
Readiness Versus Visibility
Technical website readiness did not predict AI visibility in the Georgia senior living study: foundation signals averaged 75.9 against performance signals of 67.7.
Independent vs. Continuum
Independent living communities in Georgia averaged 85.6 with 100 percent AI retrieval, while full-continuum communities averaged 67.5 with 60.4 percent retrieval.
Identical Scores Differed
One operator’s seven Georgia senior living locations shared an identical technical readiness score of 86.7 and still ranged 39.4 points apart in AI visibility.
Failed LLM Readiness
Sixty-one percent of Georgia senior living entities failed LLM readiness, the most commonly failed technical signal in the study.
Nonprofit And Single-Site Higher
Nonprofit and single-site Georgia senior living communities scored slightly higher on AI visibility than chain-operated ones.
How this was measured. 57 Georgia senior living entities: 51 individual communities and six multi-location operator brands. Each tested through three brand-blind family-decision scenarios, each repeated three times. Thirty-one signals across eight measured pillars. Data collected through August 31, 2026.
Selected, nonrandom, single-state sample. Findings are directional. The study did not measure inquiries, tours, move-ins, occupancy, or revenue.
Communities with limited or inconsistent visibility signals are not identified, by name or by description specific enough to identify them. This is neutral research describing an industry-wide pattern, not a ranking and not a criticism of any operator. Low AI visibility is not evidence of poor care.
